Embrace Your True Nature

Saturday May 13th 10am – 2pm
Whitewater Preserve
9160 Whitewater Canyon Rd
Whitewater, CA 92282

In continuing our efforts to make natural spaces more inclusive for all, the EEC invites you to spend a day in the great OUTdoors! Families are invited to join us in celebrating queer youth in our community with crafts, stories, hiking and waterplay (weather permitting). According to the Trevor Project’s 2022 National Survey on LGBTQ Youth Mental Health, 45% of LGBTQ youth seriously considered attempting suicide in the past year. However one key finding does provide hope- LGBTQ youth who live in a community that is accepting of LGBTQ people reported significantly lower rates of attempting suicide than those who do not. Spend a day with us in nature as we heal and shower love on our queer youth!

OUR MISSION

Creating a sustainable and just future through environmental learning experiences for all.

We do this by developing funding, policy and program resources to support environmental education programs in Riverside and San Bernardino counties.

OUR VISION

We envision a community where:

  • every person can experience nature every day;
  • teachers and environmental ed providers have the resources to grow programs;
  • environmental literacy is embraced as an essential component in child development, healthy communities, and environmental stewardship.

WHO WE ARE

People like you. We collaborate with teachers, school districts, program providers, non-profits, businesses, government agencies, and funders in an effort to ensure that every student can experience environmental education. The Community Foundation serves as our fiscal sponsor.
